Mined in China, it has natural split surface, perfect for villa facades, garden walls, gate pillars and fireplace cladding. It also fits indoor accent walls. As natural stone, slight color variation exists on each slab, which is natural feature instead of defect. Standard size:15×60 cm, average thickness 1.8cm (range 1.5-2.2cm). Minor size tolerance is normal. This slate boasts good weather resistance and low water absorption, anti-fade and anti-crack for outdoor use, suitable for Europe, Middle East and Oceania. About Slate
Fine metamorphic stone that splits into thin sheets. The premium roofing material, and a rustic, slip-resistant floor and wall stone.
Before you buy
- Ask for EN 12326 or ASTM C406 grading. Look for W1, T1 and S1 codes (EN) or Grade S1 (ASTM).
- Check for pyrite: small metallic cubes that rust. Only stable, tested stone is acceptable on roofs.
- Use gauged (calibrated-back) tiles for thin-set floors; riven tiles vary in thickness.
