Overview
Also called non-explosive or soundless cracking agent: a mostly calcium-oxide powder mixed with water and poured into drilled holes. Over roughly 12 to 48 hours it expands with enormous pressure and cracks rock and concrete silently, without vibration, flyrock or blasting permits.
Quarries use it to split blocks and free benches where explosives would damage the stone or aren't permitted. Grades are matched to the ambient temperature.
